The work brings the reader to a journey in the early XIX century, through passages in the original diary of Charles Darwin, as he visited the Azores on his last stop before the United Kingdom. Includes comments from local experts on vulcanology, natural and cultural heritage of the Azores.



Compiled and with texts of José Nuno Gomes Pereira and Verónica Neves, and commentaries of the Vulcanologist João Carlos Nunes, Historian Susana Serpa Silva and Agronomous Paulo J.M. Barcelos.
